In addition to improvising dialogues, at this point I wasn’t sketching characters in advance either. For instance, the translator robot was originally meant to be the King in the first panel I drew him. But I didn’t like his design, so I improvised and delayed introducing the actual king. That turned out to be one of my favorite decisions for the plot! :)
