For generations, six villages have lived in fear as the subjugated worshippers of a tyrannical God within a sacred mountain. When the Iris village steals the heart of the Mountain, the whole land turns against them. Iris’ survival depends on its youths learning the ways of powerful magic to defend their people. And Kest, outcast of Iris, is forbidden from helping. But she is known to break rules, and for once that which she loves most depends on it.
