And now we get to possibly my favorite part of this chapter; the Mantus are in a villainous role, but their motivation is entirely heroic and sympathetic. Even still, they take different approaches to the problem, and we end up with two anti-villains with different goals. It's much, much different from Taniwha's hatred and the simple wrath of the Mer-zombies.
