Jugeum, whose name means death, is shunned by others due to this dark moniker. Despite the societal avoidance, Jugeum is an ordinary guy who isn't interested in having a scary persona. His name even hampers his job prospects, as employers think he might bring misfortune. One day, while wandering down a desolate street after another rejection, Jugeum jumps into a pink ball on the ground and loses consciousness. As he wakes up, he finds himself in a dorm-like room with another startled boy. Opening the door reveals a bunch of people, spanning various age groups, who also arrived the same way he did. A creature, monster-like announces that they are all now participants in a deadly survival game.
