after frisk’s true pacifist run, they go to bed in their new home with toriel on the surface. however, when they wake up, they realise that something is wrong. they are back where they started in the underground, despite not having reset. the underground is freezing cold and the once bright colours are now dull. the citizens are all apathetic and emotionless, have lost their memories of frisk, and their SOULs lack energy. flowey, however, has surprisingly gained more emotions and has become more empathetic, despite lacking a SOUL. flowey (sort of reluctantly, the underground is creepy like this) helps frisk thaw the hearts and SOULs of the monsters, restoring them to normal. one by one, they regain their emotions and memories of their friendship with frisk as frisk and flowey traverse the underground, helping their friends break the barrier once again.
