Newt didn't choose to have a dumb name. He certainly didn't choose to be cursed into loneliness. And he certainly didn't choose to come to this university- all those people around him 24/7, that sounded like a personal nightmare. But when you're faced with the choice of breaking your moral code or going to your personal idea of hell, sometimes one option is a little less terrible than the other. He's got four years to figure something out before he loses himself to the madness.
