When tradition and ritual become outdated and repetitive, a young kobold, named Volan, sets out with his brother to fix the problems of his world. After meeting a stranger, who doesn't speak the common tongue, they're lead to space shuttles, allowing them to leave the planet. When they reach their next destination they witness the atrocities of the empire firsthand and realize the problems of their small world of Xie, are actually the problems of the entire galaxy.
