Little kia lived happily with her family of five in a cozy peice of land in Ohio. however, the happiness that was once there did a 360 in just one month.When her brother and colt, Charlie, die in a rodeo accident it is enough to drive her parents to drinking, sending them and her brother off a cliff and into a ravine. Sending 16 year old Kia to live in a small house in Owenton, Kentucky surrounded by 194 acres with her grandmother "mah" and grandfather "pah", and her cousin chi.
