The act of humblebragging or exhibiting false modesty in general, I'll admit, is pretty obnoxious. On the other extreme, you've also got people who think that heckling and insults can be justified as "tough love" in an attempt to get everyone else to improve. Thanks to "character building saves the day!" reasons once again, this sort of behaviour gets a free pass.
