If you're cynical enough, you'll already know that "the grass is always greener on the other side" is a warning against desiring for something different (usually owned or held by someone else). So don't desire or aim for anything and problem solved, you might think. Authority knows this - that's why it's important for them to make you dissatisfied and aim for more, even if you don't want to.
