For some reason, we enforce data retention on children and promise future penalties should they fail - then spend the rest of our life cycles not only forgetting the information we learned as kids, but celebrating this lapse in memory (or giving some excuse like "getting too old for this"). If adults gladly forgo knowledge, what justifies them forcing kids to do otherwise?
