While I’m not a huge fan of Watchmen, I consider the Zack Snyder film the very best movie adaptation of a comic book. It was very faithful to the story (apart from the ending). However, Watchmen also contributed to the degradation of comic book medium and gave rise to praise of anti-heroes. Now modern, mainstream comic books are filled with them. True heroism is shunned.
