Whereas the Ancients of Whoelterran brought about the end of the 1st age with their exploitation of dark glymyres (the evil side of the cerebronda technology), the Elves of Nix brought about the end of the 2nd age with their indiscriminate use of genetic manipulation. Since this webcomic is set in the 4th age, the repercussions of their actions lasted for thousands of years.
