Context for the homies that never read NPCs or don't remember because it's been years since Raff's arc: Alphonse was pretty much implied to be like an adopted son to Raffaele and he's got a pretty obvious soft spot for him and some other guys who work under him. Alphonse is currently working as a double agent. On the surface he's the prince of Varia's spy, but in reality he was sent there by Raff.
