I wrote this chapter back in February, when the world was different. Chanukkah is a story of hope, resilience, and refusal to give into oppression. Paige is Jewish, like me, and the story means a lot to both of us, especially now. Black lives matter. There’s no room for discussion on that. Please stay safe, and continue to be resilient and fight against the racism and oppression in our world. -SL
