Garcin seems obsessed with how he reflects unto others, and wants to be remembered as something honorable. However, when looking back, he realizes that he was nothing memorable, but rather a coward given how he acted towards others, especially his wife. He depends on how others view him, so I wanted to emphasize those feelings in this episode.
