When reading Art Spiegelman's Maus, I came to a panel showing neither Art nor his father - who spent the war locked in a camp - could have known why that machine-gun might have been abandoned. So I tore apart the possibilities, and gave Leutnant Winzig his head. And he took the bit in his teeth.
