A young dragon, Nin, has just been exiled to the wastes. An ancient magical border prevents anyone from escaping. She soon meets two others banished to the wastes. Together they must try to survive the wastes, the beasts that live there, and attempt to escape their magic prison. Along the way, they discover secrets about the land they travel and uncover forgotten truths about the lands that cast them out.
