Webtoon Character Q & A: How did you decide on your characters’ names?
So…I’ve been working off an on writing this story since I was in Jr. High/ High School. I have lots of old versions of the story and cut characters and such. They characters names have a lot of different origins.
So some are from Greek Mythology: Daedalus, Ariadne, Talos, Perdix. Prefix’s daughter, I made up her name from the word for “Partridge:” Phasianaide or “Phasia.”
The name Soujourn Bolivar is from the historical figures Sojourner Truth and Simon Bolivar, whom we were studying about at the time in school. She is a liberator, but over time a less benevolent one than when I first wrote her. A “sojourn” is also a word for a journey.
“Sylph” is the word for a wind fairy and she is the familiar of Lily, also known as “Lilith,” the original.
Angellica is named for one of my friends back in school and Olivia Rocio and Fraco Rodas as two character names I made up with the help of some of my friends who spoke Spanish.
