Marissa says: A couple of years ago I came across an article and video where a mother commissioned a VR mourning experience to say goodbye to the little girl she lost. It was heartbreaking and played on in my mind for a long time, in the end inspiring this scene. I wonder if ai technology, which gets (frighteningly) better and better everyday, will one day have a common place in the mourning process. I don't know how I would feel about that. I can imagine it could give closure or comfort, or keep wounds open. And there are other questions: would it matter if it's a simulation and not real? And what of the consent of the deceased? Honestly, I'd rather not think about these things too much. --- Vero's Episode Challenge: One of you is the mother of my artist. Now who would this one be? Say hi to her in the comments.
