And did you know that many CANVAS creators are part of our Ad Revenue Sharing program? It’s true! At WEBTOON, we offer a variety of monetization opportunities for creators, and every time you make a purchase on the platform you are paying a creator. We are always exploring new ways to support creators, helping them build a global audience and make money from their work.
Creators are at the heart of WEBTOON, and we built the platform to connect a new, diverse generation of comic creators with fans around the world. But connecting creators and fans isn't enough, which is why paying creators has been an important part of WEBTOON since our earliest days.
That’s why throughout 2022 we’ll be introducing a small Coin increase for returning and newly-launched Fast Pass series. We’re doing this to ensure continued and growing support for creators. We know this may not be welcome news to everyone. But the same inflationary pressures we’ve all seen around the world have also impacted WEBTOON creators. It’s important that we continue to support creators and enable them to do their best work and the work you love.
As always, WEBTOON remains a free platform where everyone can access new episodes of their favorite series after the Fast Pass period. Our model isn’t changing, and Fast Pass remains an important way for us to ensure creators can make a meaningful income from their work, while also making comics available and accessible to everyone with a free tier.
