So we eventually just gave up. It wasn’t quite as clean as this; about once a month we’d say we were going to try again, and we wouldn’t be able to get past the first few minutes of wailing. It’s hard to ignore the obvious distress you’re causing your child for an objective that, depending on whom you ask, may not even be necessary.
