EA wanted to depict how quickly his negative thoughts would overtake him. So suddenly would they arise and create a spiral of depressive and disparaging thoughts it would halt any progress he was making. Often times, it would be his friends who would be able to bring him out of his dark thoughts, but those thoughts always loomed nearby almost as if they were waiting for him to begin to feel happy
