Using the page count of Garfield's first book (96 pages) as an arbitrary reference, I will need 88 more Beary comics before I can fill an entire book with the exact same joke. At my current rate of around 4 bear comics a year, Beary's first book (working title: "Bear a Jape") can be expected around 2044. It's not often that a writer can so precisely count down to the creation of their magnum opus.
