For most of my youth, I considered myself a directionless person with no idea of what to do with his life. In actuality, I always knew my passion was storytelling, but my *other* passion was to become fabulously wealthy, and I was very familiar with the "starving artist" archetype. I've since come to accept that I'll probably never be rich - I mean, unless I get hit by the right car or something.
