Just as crafters imbue every weapon with a piece of their soul, warriors too, impart their soul into the weapon they wield. Appraisers read the magical aura from these soul remnants to authenticate a weapon's prestige. The greater the warrior, and the more they used the weapon, the more prominent their signature would appear. Even with one swing, no appraiser could ever miss Kenshi's signature.
