To date, I’m pretty confident that Godzilla holds the record for most movie appearances by a character. This record may or may not eventually be broken by a costumed superhero or Jedi master, but time will tell. Godzilla goes back to 1954 just a handful of years after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and originated as a metaphor for nuclear weaponry.
