For years I had thought of marriage counseling only as something couples pursued as a means of rectifying a marriage that was going south in a hurry (think of The Lockhorns). But it was an educational experience for me to learn that prospective spouses often go to counseling before tying the knot as a means of being fully prepared when it comes time to say, “I do.”.
