The stereotypical gamer is not a character who is usually appreciated in media. There's the idea that he's a reclusive creature who only comes out of his lair for food, hides away like a non-human, and freaks out over meaningless competition. Now I don't mean to make light of the coronavirus situation, but watching locals panic buying food, it was hard not to feel a little Schadenfreude.
