Over a century after it was heard in "Man and Superman" in a play from 1905, teachers understandably balk at this slur against their profession. And objectively speaking, I'd have to agree with them. Considering the responsibilities they have on hand and the harassment they get from parents, principals and the public - the teaching profession is the worst place for someone who "can't".
