Toxic people are generally fascinating creatures, assuming you're not on the receiving end of their wrath. It's not enough for them that you're a target for them to generate reactions from; you have to react in a way that absolves them of all responsibility, or just "be the better person" - as if that meant something. What it usually means is that the toxic behaviour continues, unabated.
