The problem with paradigm shifts is that even when backed up by data or support, they're rarely taken well by people in power. Especially if the paradigm shift means a change in the status quo, or a suggestion that one's foot might be taken off the gas pedal. And you don't even have to be the one who suggests them - you can expect your generation to be held responsible.
