Not everyone who smiles in the face adversity has a solution or optimistic quote to throw at you. Bring this up, though, and be prepared to be vaguely lectured on concepts such as "benefit of the doubt" and "seeing backstabbers everywhere". You'd think that in a crisis situation people would have more important priorities than a grunt worker's attitude problem.
