My first proper job involved me assisting with kindergarten curriculum, though not in a teaching position. Even now, I sort of see the relationship between preschool and grade school education as a somewhat abrasive one, like the one between a child who makes a complex model spaceship and hands it off to the rowdy friend who ruins it.
