The voice in your head often gets a lot of flak because it's usually bad news - and people think because it's your voice, it should be something you control. The problem is, the voice in your head didn't become what it is without external input. And odds are the sources of those external inputs aren't just in your head, either. They're probably everywhere you turn, and won't be silenced so easily.
