To be fair, I can only imagine how frustrating it is to be a parent when your offspring not only gets their information from a source that isn't you, but also doesn't put any thought into it beyond blind obedience and thinking about how this new information selfishly benefits them. On the other hand, children are hardly the biggest offenders of this. Adults have been doing it for far longer.
