You'd think that given the despair and handwringing adults have about each subsequent generation's lack of math aptitude, they'd fare better with modern math curriculum and coursework. Reality indicates that's usually not the case. The "math brain" that writers keep mourning in their opinion pieces already died several generations ago by adults who deem themselves above the need for math ability.
