For some reason, it's not longer enough to just do your job or work; there has to be some kind of value add or line going up - and one of the fashionable ways for leaders to do that is by forcing challenges onto subordinates. Because that's what we all needed, unnecessary add-ons to make us feel worse about our roles and selves. And then people wonder why mental health is scraping an all time low.
