Creativity and alternative solutions are usually treated as good things - when they're on a resume or a LinkedIn post. In reality, not so much. If you thought children and subordinates react badly when things start to be done differently, they've got nothing on how figures of authority can fly off the handle when you give them something that's technically correct but they're not expecting.
