I personally have neither the head nor the heart for economics - the best explanation I can give for the state of things is that we live in a world where the economy is destined to mess up every ten years with a recession, and a recession happening is somehow the best case scenario. No matter how the line goes up, it's not like we'll stop working or things get less expensive.
