The insistence to don't worry, think, or concern yourself about things you can't control has never made all that much sense to me. Worrying about things that you can't control is the go-to rationale that any and every person in power has used to justify their lack of chill. The same explanation extends to when they want to make someone feel crappy for things they can't control either.
