Just because it's election year across the planet doesn't mean people are particularly hopeful anything will change, or for the better. It's not like the the markets are improving or the costs of living are falling - so as unknown as the days ahead might be, it's ceased to matter for many. If an election promise falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
